I'm Derick Sequeira, born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. The son of Nicaraguan immigrants, I learned the values of hard work and determination from my family, who supported my dreams despite limited resources. My journey began when I was 4 years old. With the help and support of my family, I dedicated my entire life to becoming a professional soccer player. I made my mark as a professional player with Toronto FC and Team Canada at just 15 years old in 2011. In 2012 with the Canadian National Team, we came in third place in the CONCAF tournament to qualify for the U17 World Cup. I was selected to attend the U17 Fifa World Cup in U.A.E in October of 2012. I have played along side some of the greatest players such as Julio Cesar, Sebastian Giovinco, Michael Bradley, Dwayne Derosario and Jermaine Defoe.
Soccer has not only been my passion but a driving force that shaped me, molding me into someone who strives for greatness and doesn't stop until I achieve it. The discipline, teamwork, and resilience I learned on the field have become an integral part of my character. Unfortunately I got a career ending injury when I was 19 years old and tore my PCL, MCL and muniscus.
